Variable speed pump installation with automation - Gilbert Arizona
A customer I worked for in the past, in Gilbert Arizona, reached out because his old variable speed pump had finally failed. The old Hayward Eco-Star variable speed pump was the first variable speed pump Hayward made when the energy efficiency law, title 44, went into effect in 2012.
I put in a brand new new pump with updated software. This variable speed pump installation required an additional, low voltage control wire run between the pump and the Hayward Pro Logic sub panel. The Hayward Pro Logic system is an older radio frequency automation system. The pump can be controlled from the panel itself, or a hard button, RF remote control. This is not a wi-fi system like the newest automation systems available today, but still offers the user remote control of the pump on/off, the pool heater, isolating the spa, the water feature and the lights.
