Pool equipment installation in Gilbert Az

I was contacted recently by a customer in Gilbert who wanted a variable speed pump. His old, existing sand filter had a maximum flow rate of only 62 gallons per minute, which would have been a problem with a new pump with flow rates up to 130 gallons per minute. His existing equipment was also very old and even the pad was cracked. He wanted the job done right, and in light of everything, decided that a complete pool equipment installation was needed.
The old equipment was plumbed in specifically for the sand filter. The new cartridge filter's inlet and outlet are reversed, and doesn't have a backwash line, the salt cell was hard to remove where it was located along the ground to clean it, and the ball valves on the return side for controlling the water feature, and the aerator were difficult to reach. I decided to dig up the old pipe and redo the plumbing completely.
I created a proper return side bank with a 3 way diverter valve instead of using ball valves. 3 way diverter valves last longer, and can even be rebuilt. This also provided an opportunity to move the salt cell up off the ground, to make cleaning it easier. It was a lot of work, but but now the system is more modern, the pump more energy efficient and everything is much easier to use.
